Drupal Developer

Our client is seeking a Senior Web CMS Developer to spearhead the architecting, development, migration, and integration of Drupal based solutions for intranet and internet sites. The ideal candidate will provide extensive technical architecture and development expertise supporting full lifecycle development of web applications as well as modifications to existing systems and applications that emphasize maintainability, reliability, scalability, and performance. The Senior Web CMS Developer will program in php, code through a well-defined API, design database objects, evaluate existing solutions, provide thought leadership and collaborate with clients and other developers. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in technical and peer review processes, support customer oriented business discussions as required, and build scalable software solutions.

Requirements:

4 to 6 years of experience coding web applications in PHP, MySQL and at least 3 years in developing with Drupal CMS
Proficient in Drupal module development and Drupal theme development - Experienced with internal workings of Drupal core (actions, triggers, how pages are constructed/cached, etc.); Experienced in deploying a Drupal project across multiple environments (Development, Staging, Production, etc.)
Experienced with user-contributed module landscape/ecosystem/Research needs to determine if existing contributed modules can fulfill solution requirements
Demonstrate valuable contribution to the Drupal community to ensure the sustainability of the project
Code to a well defined set of APIs/ Experience working with third party integration and theme implementation
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML and other web standards
Experience working on other programming languages (Java, python, .NET, etc.)/Experience using SVN, Eclipse and other open source development tools
Comfortable using a revision control system such as SVN/GIT
Broad knowledge of Javascript/JQuery/Ajax
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Experience in other portal and content management products and tools
Responsible for the planning, designing, coding, testing, and support of Web-based business applications
Able to document software specifications and write technical papers, reports, and client deliverables, sucessfully (Code Commenting, and also detailed Design specifications)
Background in traditional software development methodologies and environments/ Willingness to learn and apply new software development tools, technologies, and methodologies
Excellent written and spoken communication skills/Able to work autonomously and in team environments
Ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent project tasks
Capable of managing client expectations and explaining technical matters to non-technical people
Experience working with WordPress a plus
Ability to obtain a clearance
