Human Resource Generalist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employer compliance: prepare annual EEO, OSHA and Vets reports; maintain HR compliance calendar
  • Human Resources Information System: maintain the database with personnel, training and benefits information. 
  • Employee Process and Records: manage new hire process, process payroll changes, maintain personnel files and answer employees' policy questions
  • Insurance Plans: interface with plan providers, process changes, answer questions and resolve employee benefit issues, as well as approve monthly bills and payroll deductions.
  • Other Benefits: assist with wellness program, social functions and other HR-sponsored activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities: complete annual benefits and salary surveys, coordinate annual benefits fair and provide ad-hoc reports using HRIS.
Education / Certification
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • PHR or CEBS certification a plus, but not required.
Experience
  • Five or more years experience in a Human Resources Generalist role with a solid background in labor compliance regulations and benefits administration preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Good interpersonal skills dealing with a wide range of individuals.
  • Prior experience with Human Resources Information System is preferred.
  • Diligent worker with self-initiative and demonstrated effectiveness in completing tasks in a timely way with a proven ability to multi-task and deal with interruptions without losing effectiveness.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Persistent, questioning attitude and ability to accept that in others.

  • Ability to work proficiently alone and in teams as well as possess an ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
