Logistics Engineer

Define the best Logistic Layout for the plant in terms of location and flow, including definition and design of logistics areas (warehouse areas, supermarkets, kitting and sequencing areas, material flow).

Work together with plant management to Introduce and implement WCM/Lean Manufacturing standards.
Activities toward implementation include
Leading Kaizen activities
Drive process/ flow optimization (from supplier to line), develop mid- and long term plant logistics strategies.
Drive JIT (Just in Time), JIS (Just in Sequence), and Kanban expansion (clear classification followed by standard process implementation)
Implement Supermarkets and kitting activities reducing waste
Ensure compliance with Company-wide standards
Train logistics team members on Lean practices/ WCM skills and knowledge, work with HR to develop training/ development plans for logistics team.
Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions for logistics functions/ activities
Establish/monitor Continuous Improvement Process
Establish Logistics Cost Deployment and perform 2 iterations annually, develop logistics budget - define investments and projected savings
Evaluate process changes (actual and projected) in terms of logistics cost
Evaluate product changes in the phase of design/ engineering in terms of logistics cost (in terms of process/ inventory)
Define work-plans, timelines and deliverables and monitor project status including status reporting and manage issue resolution and escalation and ensure delivery of project targets for logistics improvement projects

Monitor & control costs and service level through monthly reporting of logistic.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering or similar degree
5+ years Experience in the introduction and implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Supply Chain Management.
2+ years project management experience relating to plant layout, line balancing, and facility logistics

Preferred Qualifications:

MRP/ERP systems experience
Supplier Management/Procurement
Packaging/Container Management
